Multi Gym Buyers Guide

What is the best Multi Gym to buy page header

What is the best Multi Gym to buy is a very complex question. But if you are looking into buying a multi gym this would be the number one question you ask yourself. I am here to help you find the answer to that question by sharing my own experience with multi gyms.

You can watch the video below which is basically what I’m about to write. Or you can skip all the chit chat and go straight to my top 5 Multi Gyms to buy by clicking HERE!

My first multi gym cost me about £1000 many years ago That was with the weight extension it offered which took the weight stack up to about 90kg. It literally done nothing more than an average multi gym, so why did I pay so much? The honest answer is the person who sold it to me was a good salesman. I fell for all the “this is a sturdy machine and will last forever” lines. The reason I’m telling you this is I am NOT trying to sell you anything I just like to help.

What do most Multi Gyms have in common?

There are tons of multi gyms out there and that can confuse things when looking into buying one. But when you realise most multi gyms are the same or very similar on 3 or 4 things it helps with the search. How? Because you now know all multi gyms do the same thing so you are now looking for the addons. The 3 main ways they are the same are –

  1. All Multi Gyms will have a TOP PULLEY and they all do the same thing.
  2. The BENCH PRESS middle section is the same on most multi gyms. Just make sure the handles can unclip so the butterfly bench press can be done. See the video above if you are not sure what that is.
  3. The LOWER PULLEY will be the same on all multi gyms. The leg exercise part my vary but you will still do all other exercises the same from the pulley.
  4. I said 3 or 4 above because the WEIGHT STACKS are all the same apart from they may have different weight. I always tell people to go for the heaviest weight stacks they can find.

So there’s 4 things you know all multi gyms will have, and basically if they differ in any way it should be pointed out why. So that makes it a lot easier to look at a multi gym and see what’s different about it. As I say in the video above, sometimes someone will adapt something and charge you more money. When I say adapt its not always for the best, sometimes its just changing the way you do the same exercise. So why pay more money for that?

Multi Gym Addons

So all multi gyms will have what’s mentioned above, but some come with addons to the sides and back. This is undoubtedly where the extra money will come in. Do you really need them addons and are they worth the extra money? I personally will not pay for a sit up add-on because I can do them from the ground. If I didn’t have punchbags in my gym I would consider the punchbag addon. So its all about preference, space and money.

I hope I have helped you understand a bit more about what is the best multi gym to buy. Below is my top 5 multi gyms that I would personally buy if I didn’t already own one. These are all from Amazon as I have used them many times and trust them. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. (no extra cost to you) I have NOT been paid by any person to promote their product. My first choice will start at the top.

Multi Gym 1

My first choice would be the Klarfit. Not a bad price for a 100kg weight stack plus all the addons. It has a leg press on one side and the normal leg part on the bench press side. You would need more space for this machine though. Its dimensions are 209.6 x 203.5 x H 180.7.

Multi Gym 2

I chose this one as my 2nd choice simply because it has a 81.64KG weight stack. But to be honest I would rather pay the extra money and get the one above. I would rather the extra 20kgs, the leg press and the stepper but this is still a good option if I couldn’t meet the extra costs.

Multi Gym 3

This multi gym has a 68kg weight stack which is an ok weight. There is another one cheaper with a similar weight on the Argos site but it does not unclip on the bench press to allow the butterfly press. Again for the price I would rather save the extra cash for the above.

Multi Gym 4

I chose this one because of the punchbag. BUT and it is a big BUT, The weight stack is only 45kg. That would only suit a young slim framed teenager. For the price I would buy a boxing bag and one of the above.

I HAVE REMOVED MULT GYM 5 because the seller put the price up on Amazon. They are in high demand as many people are training at home at the moment. However there are plenty out there to choose from but I will not just list anything just to have content. I will keep searching for my 5th multi gym choice.

So they are my picks on what is the best multi gym to buy. If you still want to research things I hope what I said in the video and above has helped you out in any way.

Remember I have a Multi Gym workout program which is free and also you can subscribe to my newsletter on that page HERE. My newsletter will notify people of any added extras to the program along with other great stuff. Good Luck!
